Working With Children Check

Working with children check declaration or clearance

All volunteers who are working within classrooms, around the school, on excursions or at any time children are present are required to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) Declaration or Clearance.

There are two options for you to choose from. Both of these options are free for volunteers.

Option 1: WWCC Application Process (PDF 260KB)

If you would like to apply for a volunteer clearance pleae click on the link above or follow the instructions below.

 How to apply:

Complete the online application form which can be accessed at: http://www.newcheck.kids.nsw.gov.au

If you cannot access the online system, call the Children's Guardian customer service on (02) 9286 7276 and an officer will complete the application form for you.

Once you have made an application, you will receive an application number.

Present your application number to a NSW motor registry, along with proof of identity (which consists of the same proof required when applying for a NSW driver's licence). For information about the NSW Motor Registry nearest you, telephone 13 22 13.

Once your application has been processed, the Children's Guardian will notify you of the outcome by email or post.

When this is completed, you will be sent an email confirming your application and you will need to bring a copy of this email to the school office.

Option 2: Declaration Form (PDF 535KB) and 100 Point ID Check (PDF 196KB))

Please print off the Working with Children Check (WWCC) Declaration form that is attached above. You will be required to complete this, including a 100 point proof of identity check (documents which may be provided are included with the form). Once completed, you need to bring the form and the original proof of identity documents to the office for verification. Once these are sighted they will be returned to you. You may then work with the children.
